Peplums
I made a dress a few months ago to wear to my birthday that looked like this…
I found the fabric at an opshop - it has been home tie dyed, and looks to have been some sort of curtain… I love it
But now I am pining for a white peplum top…
I have recently made a pledge to myself to stop buying clothes - and if i can, recreate ones that I see.
This will help the pocket and my skills - win win!
This is what I will be spending my lazy sunday doing…
This dress below is from nasty gal. I love the white with the fluro pop of colour...
This below is the style I am going for - however, I think the peplum is very structured which makes it look very dressy - I think I will add more pleats to mine.
Watch this space!
Some recent work
With skulls gaining huge momentum in the fashion marketplace - I have been drawing a few creepy things for work. This is very outside of my normal pretty genre... But I enjoy doing it!
We have also been asked to create plates for a cafe, with images of out favourite food.
See below my chocolate covered strawberries.... yummy!

Bec Winnell @ Just Another Project Space
My two favourite illustrators of all time are - Kareena Zerefos - and Bec Winnel.
If you don't already know how good Bec's work is - here's an example....
My Mom asked me to send through some pictures of her work, and she wrote back "That's great, but I'm only getting pictures of beautiful girls having their make up done - where's Bec's stuff?"
"ah, Mom, they're drawings!! That's why I love her."
What I love most about Bec's work is her ability to create a masterpeice that looks more realistic than a photo. The attention to detail is outstanding and is so inspiring - I just wanted to go home and draw!
Bec's exhibition had the theme of 'Muliebrity', a word that I can happily add to my vocabulary! It means
Check out her amazing work...

Bec's exhibition had the theme of 'Muliebrity', a word that I can happily add to my vocabulary! It means
- The state or quality of being a woman, the features of woman's nature.
- ca 1693, Thomas Urquhart, Rabelais, page 3:32:270:
- Individual Womanishness or Muliebrity.
- 1904, H.B. Marriott-Watson, “The American Woman: An Analysis”, The Nineteenth Century and After, volume 56, page 435:
- This permanence of muliebrity serves to indicate the requirements of natural law.
- 1996, Joni Arredia, Muliebrity: Qualities of a Woman
- ca 1693, Thomas Urquhart, Rabelais, page 3:32:270:
- The coordinate term to virility, in an analogy with the coordinate terms of femininity and masculinity.
- 1922, Beckles Willson, England, page 182:
- both principles are necessary to a nation,--that in proportion as the muliebrity of the one sex declines, the virility of the other also lessens
- 1922, Beckles Willson, England, page 182:
- Femininity, specifically the feminine form of an adult woman.
Check out her amazing work...
i got these pics from her website - more amazing stuff here!

At the Mo...
So... I'll fill you in on what I am obsessed with at the moment.
MY BUNNIES
Yep, Pancake and Polly are still around.
TRIAL AND ERROR
Always looking for something new to make...
At the moment I'm teaching myself how to make envelope clutches.
Is proving both fun and frustrating... but hopefully can get some up for sale soon once I've mastered :)
LOVE LOVE
Originally started watching it for the fashion... but now I'm hooked on its cheesy 90's goodness.
Ever since Sophie on The Block wore this necklace... I feel in love!
And lucky for me I got the same one for my birthday.
Everything on Lucie Ellen's website is amazing -
I want all of it just so i can have it all displayed on my jewelry tree!
That's it for now peeps
happy sunday xx
